Description

This fascinating course contains everything you need to know to get started on your wheel throwing journey. In a small sociable group of 6 people you will learn the basics of throwing pots with time to practice your skills. You will make a variety of forms including mugs, vases and bowls, trim and glaze your pieces. Your pots will be fired to earthenware or stoneware in our kiln for later collection. Each class includes 1 hour 45 minutes of making and 30 minutes for clean-up of the wheels. On week 4 there will be two classes on consecutive days, one for making mugs and bowls and one focused on turning and attaching handles. There will be no class on week 5 to allow us time to bisque fire your pieces ready for glazing on week 6.

We are pleased to open these courses not just to beginners but those who have done a course in throwing before and we will adapt the course content to support your continued learning.
