Raku Pottery Workshop

Price includes both the making workshop and attendance at a raku firing day. Booking will only need to be made for the making workshop.

Raku pottery refers to a fast outdoor firing where pieces are removed from the raku kiln while they are still glowing molten orange and are placed into a container of combustibles. The pottery will result in a range of unique colours and effects including metallic coppers, bronze tones, crackle and raw black clay.

Come and make a range of clay creations from a special raku clay. We recommend you make a few smaller pieces so you are able to experiment with these to explore the amazing effects in the raku firing. This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with pottery experience.

We will be scheduling Raku firings following raku making workshops and on firing days you can paint your bisque fired creations with raku glazes and they will go through an outdoor raku firing.
